Everything is looking brighter

At last, spring is coming, lockdown is easing and people are able to start meeting up with others. The vaccine is having an impact on the numbers of deaths in the UK from Covid-19, we have turned a corner. This feels like a new beginning, things are looking brighter, we can see the future looking better.

However, the news is still full of doom and gloom. The vaccine issues, delays in the rollout, fears over blood clots, and trials being suspended. Why do we need to have all the negative things thrown at us first thing in the morning by the news? Yes there are concerns over these very rare blood clots but other medications can increase the risk of getting a clot. The contraceptive pill increases the risk for women, is this on the news all the time? No. In a time when we want people to take up the vaccine, to put a halt on this deadly virus, surely scaring people is not the way to go. There are always people who are against having a vaccine but I am sure there are more people worried now.

This is a time when we should be praising the scientists who are changing the world with these drugs, these people are literally enabling society to reopen. These people are giving us a chance at a normal life again. This is the time to support those who are doing everything they can for us. Lets not forget the NHS staff, the nurses and doctors, the cleaners, the carers, the keyworkers, they are keeping the country going.

The sun is shining again, the future is looking brighter, we are going to be able to see our families again, lets keep positive and remember we are all in this together. Brighter days are coming.
